New Life Baptist Church of Wamego, Kansas, was founded on March 29th, 1968, under the name of Bible Baptist Church.  It was formed as a mission of the South Knollwood Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas.  Bro. Harry Smith was the first pastor of the church.  Bro. Dean Bartels succeeded him in 1991 as the second pastor.  Bro. Bartels retired in April of 2003.  the church called Bro. Lyle Caudill as their pastor in July of 2003.  The church voted in April of 2004 to change the name of the church to New Life Baptist Church to reflect their new vision for the future.
